ASAC INTERNATIONAL has issued a public statement expressing thanks for the international backing it has received following what it describes as an attempt to intimidate and silence the organization. The group reaffirmed its commitment to human rights, international cooperation, and sustainable development.

The statement opens by conveying the organization’s “deepest, solemn, and sincere gratitude” to the wide range of organizations, institutions, public figures, and citizens worldwide who have shown active solidarity, moral support, and unwavering confidence in ASAC INTERNATIONAL.

ASAC INTERNATIONAL singled out human rights defenders, allied organizations, and partners whose ongoing work in support of human dignity, universal justice, and peace has been a key source of legitimacy, strength, and inspiration for its mission. Particular appreciation was extended to engaged and socially conscious Pan-African youth groups and Afro-descendant associations in Brazil and the Caribbean, whose mobilization, the statement says, has significantly reinforced the organization’s collective resolve.

The organization also acknowledged diplomats from African and Latin American governments, as well as political and institutional leaders who have lent clear and responsible support to its efforts in promoting sustainable economic development, peace, stability, and peaceful coexistence among nations.

Specific recognition was given to the people of the AES, independent media outlets, a European mediator, two judges of the International Court of Justice, and the OIDE for their cooperation and commitment to ASAC INTERNATIONAL. The statement notes that these endorsements are important reference points for international public opinion and carry significant moral and institutional weight in the fight for justice and international law.

ASAC INTERNATIONAL also thanked Spanish parliamentarians who reached out to express their solidarity and condemn the violence and injustice the organization says it has suffered. According to the statement, their remarks made clear that the actions of the local Basque government do not reflect the views of the broader Spanish public.

The statement pays tribute to the group’s collaborators, members, and friends across multiple countries, noting that their loyalty, expertise, and daily commitment have helped strengthen the organization’s structure and activity. It also acknowledges the professionalism and dedication of its own medical and kinesiology staff.

ASAC INTERNATIONAL said the attack it suffered was intended to intimidate, silence, and undermine its mission—yet, it argued, the effect has been the opposite. “It has strengthened our conviction, deepened our awareness, and consolidated our struggle for justice, human dignity, lasting peace, and environmental protection in the face of the major challenges posed by climate change,” the statement reads.

The organization also referenced the European Union as a guarantor of human rights, the rule of law, international law, and democratic values, calling the ongoing process a historic opportunity to demonstrate that there are no double standards in justice, and that no one should be denied truth and justice on the basis of origin, identity, or skin color.

Reaffirming its foundational principles, ASAC INTERNATIONAL reiterated its “unwavering commitment” to:

  • humanitarian cooperation;
  • sustainable economic development;
  • the defense of human and children’s rights;
  • environmental protection and climate action;
  • the promotion of culture as a vector for peace, dialogue, and social cohesion.

The statement concludes by thanking the authorities of countries that have hosted ASAC INTERNATIONAL in a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and genuine cooperation, and by underlining the organization’s determination to continue its work for inclusive, enduring peace and respect for human dignity.

“ASAC INTERNATIONAL stands firm. More determined. More united. More committed than ever,” the press release declares.
