Mexico City – While one is wanted by Interpol and faces accusations of collaborating with the criminal group La Barredora, the other masks financial flows through a shell company to acquire a luxury property in Miami. Brothers Hernán and Humberto Bermúdez Requena have been exposed by an investigation by Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI), which links them to illegal betting networks and tax evasion through real estate and financial operations in the United States.
According to the property transfer document (Warranty Deed), dated December 26, 2024, registered on January 2, 2025, and signed before the Clerk of Court of Miami-Dade County, Florida, Humberto Bermúdez Requena, brother of the former Public Security Secretary of Tabasco, purchased a luxury apartment in the Marina Palms Residences condominium in North Miami Beach, valued at $1.3 million USD. The transaction was carried out through MPN906 LLC, a company incorporated on November 8, 2024, in Florida, together with his wife, Flor María de los Ángeles González Moguel, and their children Humberto, Roberto, and Ángeles Bermúdez González.
The property, corresponding to apartment 906 at 17301 Biscayne Blvd, in Aventura, features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a terrace overlooking Maule Lake. According to official documents, one month after the creation of MPN906 LLC, the Bermúdez family finalized the purchase, for which they obtained a $700,000 mortgage loan from Banco Bradesco, a Brazilian bank.
The transaction took place during the same period in which criminal investigations against Hernán Bermúdez were launched in Mexico, further fueling suspicions of a possible asset-shielding strategy.
The Overpricing of Condominium 906
Los Ángeles Press dug deeper into the sale of the condominium, uncovering a significant increase in its sale price over recent years. The property was purchased by MPN906 LLC for $1.3 million, while its current estimated value, according to the Zillow platform, is $1,185,700 — about 9.6% lower than the amount paid.

Before this latest transaction, the property was transferred in 2016 from Marina Palms 906 LLC to ANC 906N LLC for $900,000, indicating an increase of $400,000 over eight years. Both companies—Marina Palms 906 LLC and ANC 906N LLC—were created using the unit number (“906”) as part of the corporate name, a pattern that continues with the current owner, MPN906 LLC.
The 2024 sale was carried out between ANC 906N LLC and MPN906 LLC. The purchasing company is managed through GA&G SERVICES LLC, a firm that specializes in accounting services and setting up legal entities in Florida. No real estate agents are identified in the public records, nor is there any evidence of a bidding process or independent appraisal to justify the final transaction value. The same applies to the selling company, ANC 906N LLC, which is registered without visible individual names, using Larson Accounting Group LLC as its corporate agent—a firm known for creating anonymous structures for foreign investors and based in Orlando.
According to official county documentation and the state business registry, all three companies involved in the history of Unit 906 share common characteristics: names based on the unit number, representation through corporate agents, and addresses located in the same North Miami Beach area. MPN906 LLC was incorporated just weeks before closing the property purchase, with Flor María de los Ángeles Moguel, wife of Humberto Bermúdez Requena, listed as the principal manager.
Criminal Links and Business Fronts
Mexico’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, along with the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF), has recently frozen the accounts of Hernán Bermúdez Requena, his relatives, and several associated companies. Operations of casinos controlled by Humberto Bermúdez, including Crown City and Royalty Casino, located in various states across the country, were also suspended.
MCCI documented that the Bermúdez family's gambling businesses began in 2011 with the company Crown City Premium S.A. de C.V., expanding into Mérida, Sonora, and Villahermosa. These companies were associated with Costa Rican businessman Josef Alexander Arguedas Troyo and with firms such as Pur Umazal Tov, which in 2022 received a 10-year permit extension during the tenure of Adán Augusto López Hernández as Mexico’s Secretary of the Interior. One of the casinos was even notarized by Adán Augusto himself at his office in Villahermosa.
The investigation also links the Bermúdez family to fuel theft at the Dos Bocas port, where the criminal group La Barredora—according to military intelligence documents cited by MCCI—planned to extract up to 38 million liters of stolen fuel (huachicol), with logistical support from a Bermúdez nephew who was coordinating sections of the Tren Maya project.
A Cross-Border Network
On July 23, 2025, the Paraguayan Attorney General’s Office arrested another nephew of Hernán Bermúdez, accused of operating illegal sports betting through Crown City casinos in that country. At the same time, Mexican authorities detected irregular bank transfers and unusual financial movements, leading to the freezing of accounts and the suspension of commercial activities of companies linked to the Bermúdez brothers.
This scheme not only reveals the use of shell companies and transnational corporate structures but is also part of a broader network of corruption, organized crime, and money laundering, with high-level political ties to previous administrations.
