Solidarios Canarios, a human rights organization nurturing hope in Gambia, Africa, recognized by ASAC International.
By Diallo Ablaye
In times of uncertainty, conflict, and inequality, there are organizations that, through quiet effort and unwavering commitment, weave networks of hope and build a future where once there was only abandonment. Such is the case of Solidarios Canarios and ASAC International, two organizations united by a common cause: defending life, dignity, and human rights in the world’s most vulnerable regions.
Recently, ASAC International awarded a diploma of recognition to Solidarios Canarios—a gesture filled with gratitude, respect, and deep admiration. A well-deserved tribute to an association that has shown, through concrete action, that solidarity is not an empty word, but a daily act of courage, generosity, and love for others.
More than aid: a commitment to life
The work of Solidarios Canarios in The Gambia goes far beyond occasional assistance. It has become a constant, engaged presence—one that listens, supports, and acts. Their dedication has been instrumental in building schools, facilitating access to basic services, promoting sustainable development, and, above all, restoring hope to thousands of children and young people. In places where abandonment once seemed irreversible, they have planted seeds of real opportunity.
Their work not only improves material conditions; it also strengthens human bonds, restores dignity, and prevents countless young people from risking their lives on perilous journeys in search of the dignity they deserve in their own homeland.
A shared set of values beyond borders
This recognition is more than just a diploma. It symbolizes a shared set of deep-rooted values between ASAC International and Solidarios Canarios—values grounded in universal principles such as Pan-Africanism, cooperation between peoples, social justice, peacebuilding, and an unwavering respect for human rights.
ASAC International has long been a tireless advocate for these principles on a global scale. Its work spans from institutional engagement to on-the-ground humanitarian activism, forging strategic alliances to change lives with dignity and respect. To honor Solidarios Canarios is also to recognize oneself in them—to celebrate that, while their forms may differ, both organizations share the same spirit: one of relentless commitment to building a more just world.
Building futures, not walls
In a world that continues to build borders, ASAC International and Solidarios Canarios are raising bridges of humanity. Together, they are proving that it’s not enough to lament inequality; one must act. And they are doing just that—day by day, project by project, person by person.
This recognition celebrates not only action but also a vision: to build a future in Africa where no young person is forced to leave their homeland in search of dignity. Because dignity—like freedom and peace—should never require a passport.
Thank you for being a guiding light on the path.
